Memory Regain IX
Memory IX
Festival Girl's Game: Day 42
Form: Plastic egg, sharable with three uses (two/three).
- Meeting Ares
1025
1119
Memory:
[Hippolyta leads Diana to a guarded cave, with a thick, bolted door. It is clearly a prison of some kind. An Amazon lets them in.]
Hippolyta: It is only within this prison, Diana, that you can glimpse the true darkness that lurks in the hearts of all men.
[The door creaks open to reveal a very empty room with benches built into the wall. Persephone sits on one, on guard duty. Diana approaches the steel, barred door, and looks inside to see a man lying in sad conditions]
Hippolyta: Ares. The god of war.
[Diana backs away in fright.]
Hippolyta: Do not fear.
Ares: She is right to be scared, Hippolyta. You are a fool if you think you can hold me forever. I am more than a god. I am a force of nature.
Hippolyta: You are but breath and shadow. This, Diana, is why we can never reunite with the outside world. It is better if you can accept the nature of man as it is; Wicked, disloyal, and above all, untrustworthy.

>> It sort of explains some things, sort of doesn't. This is the first man she has ever seen in her entire life, and it's in a place she had never before been, which somehow seems unusual. And her mother clearly holds every man in contempt for ... something ... and she's supposed to too, apparently.
Effects: ... welp! This ... isn't really enough to get her to hold men to higher personal standards, or expecting more out of them, but it is a start in that direction. She'll be paying more attention, at least (with the exception of Byzantium, who feel more like family than the mother she doesn't fully remember).
